How to Setup Your Hidden Phrase Steel Plate
Use the wordlist below or download a printable copy to find the punch pattern for your seed phrase.
NOTE: There is nothing proprietary about this list. We've just made it easy by including the binary punch pattern. You can find the original BIP39 list at github if you're a "Don't Trust, Verify" kind of person.
Step 1: Fill In Your Seed Phrase
Find each seed word on the wordlist below, then use a marker to copy the pattern to your Hidden Phrase steel plate.
Step 2: Check Your Work
Sum each row to verify that it corresponds to your seed word.
Step 3: Score the Steel Plate
Use a center punch to score each marked spot to permanently record each seed word. TIP: Feel for the etched dot in the center of each cell.
NOTE: Do this on a hard flat surface, but not your nice dining room table unless you like being in trouble with your significant other!
Step 4: Check Your Work
Make sure you haven't skipped any marked cells. If you like to double-check, go ahead and total each row again to make sure you can recreate your seed phrase.
To read your Hidden Phrase plate simply add the numbers in each row and find that word on the BIP39 wordlist.
Remember: You don't need our website or the wordlist below to read/decode your plate. You can find the original BIP39 list at github or simply search the internet for "BIP39 wordlist."
